Where do you live in the Anacostia watershed? To find out, enter your zip code below.

To learn more about your subwatershed click on the link to the left. You will find a Subwatershed Profile providing basic information about catchment area, human population density, dominant land uses, impervious surface, physical and biological stream characteristics, and wetland and forest cover. You will also find biological and water quality data summaries, as well as photos from the upper, middle, and lower sections of each subwatershed.

The map below shows the division of the 176-square-mile Anacostia watershed into Subwatershed Management Units (shown in green, yellow, and brown). The Anacostia Watershed Restoration Committee (AWRC) designated these areas as a part of its goal of improving the coordination of monitoring and restoration efforts across jurisdictional boundaries. To learn more about the Anacostia restoration and watershed-related events visit the Anacostia Watershed Network website.
